About

A rules‑based trend strategy focused on semiconductors: buy SOXX with a small SOXL boost when the uptrend is strong; otherwise sit in short‑term T‑bills with a small inverse long‑bond stake, occasionally buying deep dips.
NutHow it works
Your money is split into two halves that both watch the chip sector (SOXX). Each half checks if price is above a trend line (one slow: 200‑day average; one faster: 100‑day) and also that a shorter‑term trend is rising. If bullish, that half buys SOXX (90%) plus a small “turbo” slice in SOXL (10%). If not bullish, it holds short‑term T‑bills (SHV 90%) plus a small bet against long‑term bonds (TMV 10%). If the drop was unusually sharp, it “buys the dip” (RSI is a 0–100 gauge; below 30 = oversold).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this semiconductor trend strategy delivers ~39.8% annualized return vs SPY ~22.2%, Calmar ~1.03 over ~997 days. Higher upside and risk-adjusted edge, though drawdowns are larger (~39% vs ~19%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
