About

A two-part trend strategy on semiconductor stocks (SOXX) with a cash-like fallback (SHV). Each half buys SOXX only in strong uptrends; otherwise it holds SHV, with a small exception to buy SOXX when it’s very oversold for a potential bounce.
NutHow it works
Your money is split in half. Each half either buys SOXX (a basket of chip stocks like Nvidia, AMD, Intel) or parks in SHV (short-term Treasuries). It buys SOXX only when the price trend is strong (above long-term averages and short-term trend rising). If the trend is weak, it uses SHV—except when SOXX looks very oversold (a 0–100 gauge under 30), where it takes a rebound bet.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets higher growth than the S&P (≈31% vs ≈23% annualized) with strong risk control (Calmar ~1, Sharpe ~1.1). It splits into two trend sleeves and uses SHV when risk rises, reducing drawdowns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
