About

A daily tactical semiconductor strategy that flips between 3x long and 3x “bet‑against” semis using a recent‑move heat meter. When unclear, it parks in cash, dollar, gold, commodities, or broad‑market shorts, with a small Costco/UNH sleeve. Very high risk.
NutHow it works
It’s a daily rules‑based switch focused on semiconductors. A simple 0–100 “heat meter” of recent moves drives it: too hot → bet against semis (3x), too cold → buy semis (3x). If signals disagree, it shifts to hedges: cash/T‑Bills, strong US dollar, gold, commodities, or small shorts in S&P/Nasdaq. A small sleeve buys Costco/UnitedHealth when they’re not overheated.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this 3x semis strategy delivers ~30.4% annualized return with a 0.71 Sharpe and Calmar ~0.54, topping the S&P’s ~24.6% and using hedges plus a quality sleeve to pursue higher upside amid volatility.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
