About

A one-position tactical switcher. In uptrends it rides leveraged tech (mainly TQQQ), buys dips, and hedges when markets get too hot. In downtrends it flips short (PSQ/SQQQ/SH) or parks in cash (BIL) or gold (GLD). Signals use trend, RSI, and recent returns.
NutHow it works
It holds one fund at a time. First it checks trend: if the S&P 500 is above its 200‑day average (uptrend), it mostly rides tech via TQQQ, buying dips (TECL/UPRO). If things look too hot, it briefly buys UVXY; if signals weaken, it steps down to SPY, cash (BIL), or gold (GLD). If the S&P is below trend, it often shorts the Nasdaq (PSQ/SQQQ) or hides in cash/gold, with occasional quick longs. Notes: RSI ≈ a speedometer of buying/selling (high=hot, low=cold). TQQQ/UPRO/TECL=3x bull; PSQ/SQQQ/SH=short; UVXY=volatility; GLD=gold; BIL=T‑bills. Bond/utility ETFs (BND, AGG, IEF, TLT, CORP, VPU, STIP) guide risk. Leveraged funds are very volatile.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers higher risk-adjusted returns and much more upside than the S&P 500, via regime-switching and hedges. Sharpe ~1.18 vs ~1.03; annualized ~72% vs ~18%. Drawdowns can be larger in tougher regimes.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
