About

A rules-based, cash-equal, multi-asset system that shifts between 3x tech/broad-market bullish bets and hedges/safer assets using RSI and moving-average signals, with a dedicated bear-market protection module to limit drawdowns. Customizable RSI proxy (default SPY, or QQQ) guides entries/exits.
NutHow it works
In simple terms, the strategy splits money into several sub-portfolios. One bucket tries to ride big upside moves in tech with 3x leveraged tech ETFs (like TQQQ) when market momentum looks strong according to RSI and price trends. Other buckets are designed to act as brakes: when signals weaken (for example, RSI turns down, prices fall below moving averages, volatility spikes), the system shifts money into hedges (SQQQ, PSQ, SH), volatility exposure (VIXY), and safer fixed-income or cash-like assets (BIL, IEF, STIP, BND, AGG). A separate “Bear Market Protection” module uses patterns in SPY, QQQ, and bond/treasury assets to reduce risk when the market appears range-bound or turning down. The mechanism is built to rebalance toward equal weights within each sub-portfolio, so no single instrument dominates. The 60-day RSI on SPY (or a customizable proxy like QQQ) acts as a primary momentum gauge, and the creator suggests adjusting it to fit your view of the market. The result is a dynamic, rule-driven mix that aims to capture upside in strong regimes while curbing losses in weak or volatile markets.
CheckmarkValue prop
High upside with risk discipline. In out-of-sample tests, ~72.5% annualized return, Sharpe ~1.19 vs SPY ~1.03, Calmar ~1.65, aided by bear-market hedges and momentum signals designed to outperform the S&P while managing risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
