About

A simple on/off switch: when short‑term measures say US stocks are extremely hot, it buys a 2× VIX fund (UVIX) to bet on a quick volatility pop; otherwise it stays in a T‑Bill fund (BIL). Signals come from SPY, QQQ, VTV, VOX, XLP, and XLF.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks if parts of the US stock market look “too hot” over the last ~2 weeks using a heat score (10‑day RSI). If any of SPY, QQQ, VTV, VOX, XLP, or XLF read extremely hot, it buys UVIX (a 2× fund tied to the VIX). If none do, it stays in BIL (T‑Bills). UVIX is very volatile.
CheckmarkValue prop
Capital-protective volatility-timing: mostly cash, only taps UVIX on extreme heat. Out-of-sample: lower drawdown (14.9% vs SPY 18.8%), near-zero beta, and better risk control. Diversifies and cushions downside while offering occasional volatility exposure.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
