About

A daily, momentum‑based switch: if tech beats defensive “alt” funds on short‑term momentum, go heavy into 3× tech (TQQQ/TECL); otherwise sit in T‑bills (BIL). Uses 10/20/5/20‑day lookbacks in a strict checklist.
NutHow it works
Each day it scores short‑term momentum (RSI = a score of recent up vs down days) for chip stocks (SMH) or broad tech (VGT) versus “safer” funds: managed‑futures (WTMF, CTA), a long/short fund (FTLS), and a rate‑hedge (PFIX). If tech’s score is higher, it buys aggressive 3× tech (TQQQ; or 50/50 TQQQ+TECL on the first test). If none beat the “safer” funds, it parks in T‑bills (BIL). It checks 10‑, 20‑, 5‑, then 20‑day windows daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets tech leadership with leverage. OOS annualized return ~56% vs SPY ~18%; Sharpe ~1.00 vs ~0.96; Calmar ~1.52; alpha ~0.13%. Warn: higher drawdown (~37% vs ~19%). Higher upside, with tech risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
