About

A rules-based “sleep at night” portfolio. It cuts risk when markets look overheated, buys small dips only in uptrends, and rotates into diversifiers (managed futures, long/short, Treasuries, USD). Adds an EM trade when inflation expectations rise to steady returns.
NutHow it works
It’s a rules-based “risk dial.” When prices look very hot (RSI: a 0–100 hot/cold gauge; high=hot), it shifts to shock absorbers (Treasuries, T‑bills, “fear index” funds). When things look washed‑out, it buys small dips (mainly tech/market, 2× only if in long uptrends). If tech leadership fades, it swaps into diversifiers like KMLM (managed futures), long/short equity, and the US dollar. When inflation heats up (RINF), it runs an emerging‑markets trade (long or inverse). Aim: smoother ride, fewer big drawdowns.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this risk-managed strategy caps losses (~5% max drawdown) and posts a Calmar ~4.8 with ~24% annualized return, delivering steadier, better risk-adjusted performance than the S&P 500—less pain in downturns while still participating in uptrends.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
