About

Rule-based, sleep-at-night plan: offense in calm uptrends (tech-led, sometimes 3x); defense when markets overheat or fall (Treasuries, cash, staples, utilities, gold, volatility). Adds KMLM managed futures and a small inflation-aware EM tilt.
NutHow it works
Goal: sleep-at-night. It watches short-term ‘heat’ (RSI = too-hot/too-cold) and choppiness in the Nasdaq (QQQ). When calm/not overheated, it goes on offense in broad/tech stocks—sometimes with 3x funds (TQQQ, TECL, SOXL, SPXL). When overheated or weak, it moves to defense: Treasuries (TLT), cash-like bills (BIL), staples (XLP), utilities (VPU), gold (GLD/GDX), or fear (VIXY). A KMLM managed-futures sleeve diversifies when stocks are messy. A small sleeve times emerging markets (EEM/EEV) when inflation (RINF) rises.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy reduces drawdown and beta while delivering solid risk-adjusted gains: 27.8% vs SPY's 29.2%, max drawdown 11.2% vs 13.7%, Calmar 2.48. Diversified sleeves hedge risk and offer sleep-at-night confidence.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
