About
A complex, signal-driven, momentum-based system that rotates among leveraged bets (SPXL/SPXS, TECL/TECS, TQQQ/SQQQ, TMF) and a safety sleeve, using RSI, moving averages, and volatility to decide both direction and which assets to favor, with cash split evenly across chosen bets and no fixed rebalancing schedule.
- The system runs through many groupings of rules to decide which bets to place. It often compares short-term signals (like a recent price move) to longer-term signals (a moving average or a longer price series).
- It prefers to select a small set of bets rather than spread thinly across many; where a block picks assets, it can choose the top or bottom performers by specific rules and then allocate cash evenly among those picks.
- The main betting blocks involve leveraged bets on the S&P 500 (up or down, via SPXL and SPXS), technology exposure (TECL for tech bulls, TECS for tech bears, and NASDAQ-related TQQQ/SQQQ), and long-duration/short-duration bond plays (TMF for long Treasuries, BIL for cash-like safety, UGL as a non-cash hedge).
- RSI and price momentum guide which side of the market to emphasize (bullish tech bets when momentum is favorable; bearish / hedged tech bets when momentum tilts). There are also filters based on volatility (standard deviation) and relative performance (comparing RSI or cumulative returns across assets).
- When a condition is met, the system assigns weights (often 100/100 within a sub-group, or 90/100 in some branches) and places or adjusts positions accordingly. Cash is allocated using cash-equal logic to spread risk across the selected bets. There’s an explicit shelter of “Safety” assets to temper drawdowns (like short-term Treasuries, cash-like T-bills, or gold proxies).
- Rebalancing is not scheduled; decisions are signal-driven with a narrow tolerance, meaning only clear signals trigger changes. This can lead to fewer but larger adjustments when conditions flip.
Out-of-sample edge: ~50% annualized return vs SPY ~21%, powered by momentum-driven leverage with a safety sleeve. Accept higher drawdowns (~60%) for potential large gains; Calmar ~0.82 signals risk-controlled upside.
