A one-fund-at-a-time strategy that usually owns JEPQ for income, but shifts to tech, a defensive hedge, or Treasury bills when the market looks too hot, too weak, or unstable.

This strategy holds just one fund at a time and checks the market every day. First it asks: is the U.S. stock market in a healthy long-term uptrend? If yes, it usually owns JEPQ, an income-focused Nasdaq fund. But if the market looks too overheated, it shifts to defense: BTAL or short-term Treasury bills (BIL). If the market is not in a strong uptrend, it becomes more tactical. In some sharp selloffs it buys tech (XLK) or JEPI for a rebound/income play. If conditions still look shaky, it moves to BTAL or BIL. Otherwise, it returns to JEPQ.

Out-of-sample edge: ~20.8% annualized return vs S&P ~18.9%, and max drawdown ~14% vs ~19%. A one-fund-at-a-time, regime-switching strategy that shifts to income, tech, or cash to chase upside and defend downside.
