About

A simple switch: calm markets = park in short‑term T‑bills (BIL); sudden, extreme 2‑day stock‑market swings = jump into a volatility fund (UVXY) that can spike during panics.
NutHow it works
It watches how wildly the main U.S. stock market fund (SPY) moved over the last 2 days. If those moves are unusually large—about 4.5–5% swings—it switches 100% into UVXY, a leveraged fund that tends to jump when market fear spikes. When things calm down, it holds BIL, a short‑term T‑bill (cash‑like) fund. It only trades when that on/off signal changes.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy offers higher risk-adjusted upside with far less downside than SPY: ~20.7% annualized vs 19.6%; max drawdown ~3.2% vs ~18.8%; Calmar ~6.4. Strong upside, with much smaller risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
