About

A rules-based, tactical mix that rides uptrends with leveraged S&P 500 (SSO), but rotates to cash-like T‑bills or defensive staples—and occasionally uses Nasdaq long/short ETFs—based on simple trend (moving averages), momentum (RSI), and volatility signals.
NutHow it works
It’s a simple rules blend. Default is SSO (a fund that tries to double the S&P 500’s daily move). If trends weaken or volatility heats up, it shifts to safety: BIL (T‑bills, cash‑like) or XLP (defensive staples). It sometimes uses Nasdaq tools: TQQQ (triple‑long), SQQQ/PSQ (short). Signals: moving averages (trend), RSI (hot/cold: >70 hot, <30 cold), and VIXM (volatility) to step aside.
CheckmarkValue prop
Stronger upside with disciplined risk control: oos return 34.3% vs S&P 20.3%, solid risk-adjusted metrics (Sharpe ~1.16, Calmar ~1.17). Uses BIL/XLP hedges during stress while chasing uptrends with SSO.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
