About

Uses the S&P 500’s trend to switch modes. Uptrend: 50/50 QLD (2x Nasdaq) + QQQ. Downtrend: if short‑term oversold, buy the dip with QLD; otherwise split between staples (XLP) and a 2x short Nasdaq (QID). Backtest since 2006.
NutHow it works
SPY=S&P500; QQQ=Nasdaq‑100; QLD=2x QQQ; QID=2x short QQQ; XLP=consumer staples. 200‑day average = long‑term trend. RSI(10) ≈ 2‑week heat gauge; <30 = oversold. When SPY is above its 200‑day: hold 50/50 QLD+QQQ. Else: if RSI<30, buy the dip with QLD; otherwise hold 50/50 XLP+QID.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample shows ~33.7% annualized return vs ~23% for the S&P, with Calmar ~1.26 and Sharpe ~1.10—strong risk-adjusted gains. Regime-switching targets Nasdaq upside in uptrends and protects in downtrends for higher growth with controlled risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
