About

Own 2× Nasdaq‑100 (QLD) when the market trends up, or when QQQ is deeply oversold; otherwise sit in bonds (VBF). Tech‑heavy risk when on, bonds when off. Rebalanced daily. Backtested since 2006. Risks: leverage, whipsaws, bond fund volatility.
NutHow it works
Daily, it picks one holding. - If the broad market is in an uptrend (SPY’s 21‑day average price is above its 210‑day average), it buys QLD, which targets 2× the daily move of the tech‑heavy Nasdaq‑100 (QQQ). - If not in an uptrend: it buys QLD only when QQQ looks washed out (10‑day RSI < 30; RSI gauges how stretched recent drops are). Otherwise it holds VBF, a bond fund.
CheckmarkValue prop
Why invest: In uptrends, 2× Nasdaq‑100 (QLD); in downturns, bonds. Out‑of‑sample: Sharpe 3.20 vs SPY 2.53; Calmar ~19.5; annualized return ~121% vs ~30%. Higher upside with disciplined risk — watch drawdowns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
