About

Hold 2x Nasdaq‑100 (QLD) when the S&P 500 trend is up or the Nasdaq‑100 is short‑term oversold; otherwise sit in short‑term Treasuries (SHY). Aims to beat the market while cutting drawdowns. Rebalanced daily.
NutHow it works
Each day the strategy picks one fund. If the S&P 500’s 21‑day average is above its 210‑day average, it buys QLD, a fund targeting 2x the daily move of the Nasdaq‑100 (big‑tech heavy). If that test fails but the Nasdaq‑100 looks oversold—RSI(10) under 31 (a 0–100 gauge of intense recent selling)—it still buys QLD to catch a rebound. Otherwise it holds SHY, a short‑term U.S. Treasury bond fund.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample return ~52% vs SPY ~23%; Calmar ~3.3 and Sharpe ~1.46 signal strong risk-adjusted upside. Nasdaq-100 with 2x leverage in uptrends/oversold dips + SHY ballast aims to beat the S&P with disciplined risk (drawdowns possible).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
