About

A rules-based, QQQ‑focused strategy: hold QQQ in uptrends, hide in T‑bills or staples when volatility or trends worsen, occasionally buy 3× QQQ on deep selloffs, and shift to gold/TIPS when cash has been unusually strong.
NutHow it works
It uses simple rules to switch among a few ETFs: - QQQ = Nasdaq‑100 (big tech), BIL = T‑bills (cash‑like), XLP = consumer staples (defensive), IAU = gold, TIP = inflation‑linked bonds, TQQQ = 3× QQQ, VIXM = volatility gauge. Indicators: moving average = average price; RSI = 0–100 of recent ups vs downs (<30 oversold, >70 hot). Logic: Own QQQ in uptrends; if fear (VIXM RSI>70) use BIL; if trend weak use XLP; if QQQ very oversold use TQQQ; if cash strong over 1 yr hold 70% IAU + 30% TIP; else QQQ. Path 2 is off.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this rules-based QQQ strategy beats the S&P: 28.0% annualized return vs 22.8%, max drawdown 11.8% vs 18.8%, Sharpe ~1.82 vs 1.43, Calmar ~2.37. Lower downside, higher risk-adjusted upside with transparent rules.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
