About

A QQQ-based, RSI-driven strategy that uses 3x levered bets (TQQQ or SQQQ) on extreme RSI readings, with a volatility-hedge fallback (NUGT/TMF) or SPY exposure if conditions are neutral. No fixed rebalance; a 5% drift tolerance guides adjustments.
NutHow it works
A plain-language flow: - Check QQQ's 10-day RSI. If RSI <= 35, go all-in long on TQQQ (3x QQQ). - Else if RSI >= 80, go all-in short on SQQQ (3x inverse QQQ). - Otherwise (RSI between 35 and 80): assess recent drawdown. If QQQ’s 5-day max drawdown > 5%, allocate to NUGT and TMF (a volatility/hedge pair with leverage). If not, allocate to SPY for broad market exposure. Weights are scaled to sum to 100% (via the cash-equal wrapper), and there is no fixed rebalancing calendar—only drift within a 5% corridor before reweighting. - The framework uses a blend of short-term momentum (RSI triggers) and risk controls to switch between a directional levered view and hedges depending on volatility and drawdown conditions.
CheckmarkValue prop
RSI-driven, levered QQQ bets with adaptive hedges offer outsized upside. OOS return: 37.94% vs SPY 23.21%, with risk controls and drift-based reallocation. Higher volatility and drawdowns, but stronger potential gains.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
