About

Rules-based mix that owns US stocks (often QQQ/SPY) in healthy uptrends, hides in T‑Bills/bonds when weak, and uses VIX ETFs as an “airbag” when markets overheat. Adds commodities only when trending. Daily, low‑beta, capital‑preservation focused.
NutHow it works
Daily rules check trend (moving averages = average price), heat (RSI 0–100), and fear (VIX). If trend up and not hot → own QQQ/SPY; deep dips may buy small QLD/TECL briefly. If very hot → use VIX funds (UVXY/VIXY) or park in T‑Bills (BIL/SHV). If trend down → shift to bonds (TLT/TMF/BND) or shorts (PSQ/SH). Add oil/gold/commodities (DBO/GLD/DBC) only when they trend. Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Rules-based, low-beta strategy that stays invested in uptrends while hedging risk with cash/bonds and volatility tools. OOS: drawdown ~4.7% vs SPY ~5.1%, beta ~0.45, Calmar ~1.04 - strong risk control and diversification beyond the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
