About

A simple S&P 500 “hot/cold” plan: hide in short‑term Treasuries when markets look overheated, buy a 3× tech fund on sharp selloffs, otherwise hold a mix of big, mostly dividend‑paying stocks.
NutHow it works
The strategy watches a 10‑day “hot/cold” score (RSI) on SPY (the main S&P 500 fund). RSI is a 0–100 gauge of how fast price moved; high = overheated, low = washed‑out. - If RSI > 69: move 100% to SHY (1–3 yr U.S. Treasuries) for safety. - If RSI < 27: move 100% to TECL (a 3× tech fund; very high risk) to play a rebound. - Otherwise: hold equal parts of WMT, MCD, HD, PG, PFE, JNJ, KHC, TSLA (mostly dividend payers). Trades only when the signal flips; the stock basket is rebalanced only if it drifts a lot.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 34.2% annualized return vs SPY’s 22.6%, max drawdown ~9.9% vs 18.8%, Calmar ~3.47. RSI-driven shifts to SHY/TECL/dividend basket aim for higher upside with disciplined risk control.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
