About

A rule-based, RSI-driven strategy that toggles between a volatility hedge (UVIX) and leveraged tech bets (SPYU, SOXL, FNGU) when tech momentum exceeds a KMLM baseline, or shifts to bear tech (TECS) when it does not; no routine rebalancing.
NutHow it works
- Start with cash and decide which group to invest in based on two RSI tests. - First test: is SPY's 10-day RSI above 83? - If yes, buy UVIX (2x volatility exposure) and hold it. - If not, move to the tech-momentum test: compare RSI(XLK, 10 days) with RSI(KMLM, 10 days). - If RSI(XLK) > RSI(KMLM), invest equally in SPYU, SOXL, and FNGU (three levered tech bets). - If RSI(XLK) <= RSI(KMLM), invest in TECS (bear tech). - Weights are equal across assets in any given branch (100% divided equally among the chosen assets). - No automatic rebalancing is planned; the corridor width describes a tolerance around target weights, but rebalance is set to none. - The goal is to ride tech momentum with amplified exposures when tech is strong, and hedge with volatility when the market looks oversold/volatile, with a safety net to shift to bear tech if tech momentum deteriorates. - SPYU is used as the technology exposure in place of a pure technology ETF, aligning the strategy with a highly leveraged tech bet rather than a plain technology index.
CheckmarkValue prop
Rule-based RSI strategy that hedges with UVIX in stress and levered tech bets in momentum. OOS: ~23% annualized return vs SPY ~16%; higher upside with tech exposure, but larger drawdowns. Simple, non-rebalancing design.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
