About

A simple daily switch: own US stocks (SPY) most of the time, but move to short‑term Treasuries (SHY) whenever a volatility ETF (UVXY) shows sustained stress via a 20‑day RSI at 70 or higher.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks market “fear” using UVXY, an ETF tied to stock‑market volatility. It looks at UVXY’s last 20 days and scores its momentum (RSI). If that score is below 70 (fear not extreme), it holds SPY (broad US stocks across all sectors). If 70 or above (fear spike), it switches to SHY (short‑term US Treasuries).
CheckmarkValue prop
Simple risk-on/off strategy: mostly SPY; switches to SHY when UVXY signals fear (RSI 20 ≥70). Out-of-sample: Sharpe ~1.33, annualized return ~20.6%, beta ~0.86. Competitive risk-adjusted performance with lower market sensitivity.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
