About

A daily-rebalanced, tech-focused multi-signal system that rotates among QQQ and related tech ETFs and hedges using moving-average momentum and layered RSI thresholds, with volatility hedges and anti-beta exposure to manage risk.
NutHow it works
- It starts with a master tech holding (MTH) that tilts between QQQ-like tech exposure and more defensive/hedged tech baskets depending on short-term momentum signals. - A separate RSI Reversions engine looks at multiple lookback periods to judge whether markets are oversold or overbought, then routes capital into lower-volatility sleeves (defensive, e.g., SPLV, loyalty to hedges) or higher-volatility tech sleeves (e.g., IGV/SOXX). - The system uses inverse-volatility weighting (wt-inverse-vol) to overweight lower-risk assets and anti-beta funds (BTAL) to dampen market beta when risk signals are high. - It uses volatility hedges (SVXY, VIXY/VIXM) as ballast to reduce drawdowns during spikes in volatility. - A broad set of assets is used, including technology ETFs, sector ETFs, commodities and gold, currencies/yen hedges, and various bond ETFs, providing diversified risk management. - Signals rely on moving-average-return comparisons (momentum) across small windows (3–5 days, sometimes up to 40 days in nested branches) and layered RSI thresholds (30d/20d/10d/7d/5d) to decide the allocation. The final output is a daily rebalanced mix labeled “Short Term Technology Trading.”
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Sharpe ~1.93 vs ~0.89 for the S&P; max drawdown ~3.6% vs ~18.8%; Calmar ~4.16. A tech-rotation strategy with volatility hedges and anti-beta protection delivers stronger risk-adjusted returns, with far tighter risk than the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
