This strategy checks the market once a month and shifts money based on simple “risk-on/risk-off” signals. Half the portfolio is a tactical sleeve that may own a Bitcoin fund, the U.S. dollar, or whichever of several assets looks most washed out recently. The other half watches credit markets: if conditions look healthy, it buys the S&P 500; if not, it moves toward long Treasury bonds, gold, short-term bonds, consumer staples, and the U.S. dollar.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
