About

A daily, trend-based allocation between dividend-focused equities, a futures hedge, and gold in up markets, versus a defensive mix of futures plus long and short-term bonds in down markets.
NutHow it works
A daily-rebalanced, two-mode allocation driven by SPY’s trend. If SPY’s 50-day price is above its 200-day price (bullish), the fund holds 40% COWZ (dividend-focused stocks), 30% DBMF (managed futures), and 30% GLD (gold). If SPY’s 50-day price is not above, it switches to 40% DBMF, 30% TLT (long bonds), and 30% BIL (short-term bonds). Rebalances happen every day to maintain these weights.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample performance shows materially higher risk-adjusted growth versus the S&P 500. Annualized return ~54% vs ~24%, Sharpe ~4.17 vs ~2.04, max drawdown ~3.81% vs ~5.07%. Calmar ~14 and regime hedges boost resilience.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
