About

A tactical semiconductor strategy. It buys dips and fades spikes using leveraged semis funds, adapts to market fear, and adds hedges (volatility, dollar, Treasuries). When no extremes, it holds SMH in uptrends or turns defensive in downtrends. High risk.
NutHow it works
1) Gauge fear via UVXY; high/medium/low fear chooses a playbook. 2) If semis (SMH) make a big 1‑day move: big drop → buy the dip with 3x long (SOXL) + ~30% hedges (VIXM/UVXY, UUP, or SHY). Big spike → 3x inverse (SOXS) + Treasuries. 3) Else, a 0–100 “stretched/washed‑out” gauge over 5–45 days: washed‑out → add SOXL; overheated → add SOXS. 4) If neither, follow trend: above 200‑day avg hold SMH; below, use SMH or SOXS/SHY.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~48.6% annualized vs SPY ~20.9%, Calmar ~1.19 signaling strong risk‑adjusted upside. Leverages semis with hedges (volatility, USD, Treasuries) for resilience, though stress periods may show larger drawdowns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
