About

A daily, tactical semiconductor strategy. It buys a 3x bull chip fund on sharp selloffs (50% size), otherwise takes a small position in either a 3x bear chip fund or a regular chip fund (25% size), keeping most assets in cash.
NutHow it works
Each day the strategy checks how hard chip-stock funds have fallen recently (using a simple 0–100 “heat” score of recent ups vs downs). If the 3x bull chip fund (SOXL) looks deeply sold off (<30), hold 50% SOXL/50% cash. Otherwise, hold 25% in either the 3x bear chip fund (SOXS) if it’s deeply sold off, or the regular chip fund (SMH), and keep 75% cash. Rebalances daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Semiconductor-focused strategy shows a strong OOS edge: ~90% annualized return vs S&P ~29%, Calmar ~2.34. Expect higher drawdowns, but strict cash buffers and dip-buying aim for superior risk-adjusted upside.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
