About

Buys short‑term dips in the Nasdaq‑100 using a 2x ETF (QLD). First check trend: if SPY (S&P 500) is above its 200‑day average, pair QLD with SPY; if not, pair QLD with SHY (1–3yr Treasuries). The deeper the dip (lower RSI), the more QLD.
NutHow it works
1) Trend check: If SPY is above its 200‑day average, it’s an uptrend; otherwise a downtrend. 2) Dip size: Use QQQ’s 10‑day RSI, a 0–100 score of recent ups vs downs; lower means more sold off. 3) Positioning: Uptrend → mix SPY with 0–100% QLD (2x Nasdaq) as RSI drops. Downtrend → mix SHY with QLD. No dip (RSI≥30) → hold SPY (uptrend) or SHY (downtrend). Very low RSI (<20) → 100% QLD.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Trend-filtered Nasdaq-100 dip-buy with QLD delivers higher risk-adjusted return (25.2% vs 21.1%), lower max drawdown (10.5% vs 18.8%), and lower beta than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
