About
A modern, Dragon‑style portfolio that spreads across stocks, bonds, gold/commodities, the U.S. dollar, and crash hedges. It rotates using simple trend, momentum, and overbought/oversold signals—adding risk in uptrends, defending in selloffs.
Goal: stay steady in booms and busts (“Dragon”).
Split into 5 sleeves: growth stocks; bonds/rates; cross‑asset trend & momentum; “fiat alternatives” (gold, commodities, U.S. dollar, T‑bills); crash protection (VIX hedges).
Signals: trend (vs 200‑day avg), momentum (~4 months), short‑term heat/cold, and recent drops. In calm uptrends it leans into stocks (sometimes 3x tech/semis). In stress or rising rates it shifts to Treasuries, gold/commodities, the dollar, or inverse hedges. Leveraged ETFs are high‑risk.
Out-of-sample, the Dragon strategy delivers higher risk-adjusted growth vs the S&P: ~32%/yr, Sharpe ~1.79, Calmar ~2.32, max drawdown ~13.8% vs 18.8% for SPY, beta ~0.84, alpha ~0.11—more upside, lower risk.
