This strategy spreads money across 5 buckets: panic protection, trend-following, gold/commodities/dollar, growth assets, and interest-rate trades. It constantly checks simple market “weather” signals: is the market rising or falling, getting too hot, or dropping fast? In calm uptrends it can buy aggressive stock funds. In stress it shifts toward gold, the US dollar, short-term bonds, volatility hedges, or even funds that rise when stocks or bonds fall.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
