This is a large rule-based “safety first” portfolio made of many small defensive playbooks. It spreads money across assets that often hold up better in rough markets: short-term Treasury funds, longer-term bonds, gold, the U.S. dollar, dividend stocks, consumer staples, utilities, and hedge-like funds. Then it regularly checks simple scorecards based on recent behavior—such as what has been rising, what has been less jumpy, and what has had smaller losses—and shifts toward the options that look stronger or steadier. Some parts also move to cash-like Treasury bills when markets look stressed.
