About
Daily, it picks the most “oversold” option among a consumer‑staples stock fund and several bond/municipal funds using a 10‑day RSI score, holds that one (and possibly some cash), and rebalances the next day to capture short‑term bounces.
Each day it checks 7 “defensive” funds: one consumer‑staples stock fund (XLP) and six bond funds (mostly municipal bonds: BKT, NAN, MMU, PMM, EVN, VBF). It scores their last 10 days (RSI: 0–100; low = recently fell) and buys the lowest‑scoring one, aiming for a short‑term bounce. It may keep some cash alongside the pick. Rebalanced daily.
Out-of-sample: annualized return 35.4% vs 21.2%; Sharpe 3.54 vs 1.83; max drawdown 1.68% vs 2.89%; beta ~0.09. A defensive, mean-reversion approach delivering stronger, smoother risk‑adjusted gains than the S&P 500.
