About
A defensive bounce strategy: each day it buys the one “safest” sector or bond fund that has fallen the most recently, hoping for a short-term recovery.
Each day, the strategy looks at 7 relatively defensive investments: one consumer-staples fund (XLP) and 6 bond-focused income funds.
It measures which one has been weakest over the last 10 trading days using RSI, a simple “recent heat” score. Then it puts 100% of the money into the single weakest one, betting it may rebound soon.
Out-of-sample, this defensive strategy offers strong risk-adjusted performance vs the S&P: low beta (~0.25), Calmar ~1.47, and drawdowns comparable to the S&P, delivering steadier, lower-volatility growth for risk-averse investors.
