About

A rules‑based, multi‑asset “cockroach” portfolio: 40% offense (tech momentum and dip‑buys with guards), 40% defense (volatility, Treasuries, gold, market‑neutral), 20% currencies. Uses trend and a simple heat gauge (RSI) to rotate; includes bond and commodity trend sleeves.
NutHow it works
It splits money into 3 buckets and lets simple gauges steer it. - Offense: When markets trend up, it rides growth (Nasdaq/Tech via TQQQ, TECL, SOXL). If things look overheated, it steps into Treasuries (TMF) or volatility (UVXY). On sharp drops, it buys the dip or briefly shorts (SQQQ). - Defense: When fear rises, it shifts to VIX funds, long Treasuries, gold, or a market‑neutral fund (BTAL). - Core: Small slice in USD, euro, yen. Signals: Trend (price vs moving averages) and a “heat” meter (RSI: high = ran too fast; low = washed out). It also runs separate trend systems in bonds and commodities (oil, gas, metals, ag) and keeps a small income sleeve.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe 2.11 vs 1.07, annual return 38.48% vs 20.33%, max drawdown 12.22% vs 18.76%, beta ~0.61. Higher risk-adjusted growth with less downside and lower correlation to the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
