About

A tactical, daily‑rebalanced mix of offense and defense: a 20% growth tilt in QLD plus a rotating “safe sectors & bonds” sleeve. A QQQ trend filter controls risk; an oversold RSI trigger sometimes adds short bursts of leveraged tech. Expect higher volatility.
NutHow it works
Trend check: if QQQ (Nasdaq‑100) is in an uptrend (21d > 210d), we go risk‑on; else we park in one oversold pick from defensive sector funds (utilities, staples, healthcare) and bond funds. Risk‑on: keep 20% in QLD (2× Nasdaq‑100). The other 80% usually stays in that defensive/bond sleeve, but can flip to QLD when transports (IYT) lead. If tech (XLK) lags a managed‑futures fund (KMLM), we skip QLD and stay defensive. When QQQ looks washed‑out (RSI, a 0–100 heat gauge, <31), we briefly buy the 2 strongest leveraged growth ETFs (e.g., TQQQ, TECL).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample upside beats the S&P on risk-adjusted metrics: ~45.8% annualized return, Sharpe ~3.08 vs ~1.73, Calmar ~11.1, beta ~0.53. Trend-driven 2x Nasdaq growth with defensive sleeves offers higher upside with lower market sensitivity.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
