About

A daily, RSI-driven rotation between leveraged tech ETFs (growth) and safe sector/bond ETFs (defense), with QLD substituting for QQQ to magnify Nasdaq exposure when favorable. It blends momentum, trend checks, and equal-cash weighting to try for growth with built-in risk control.
NutHow it works
The strategy runs every trading day. It has two main lanes: Growth (risk-on) and Safety (risk-off). In Growth, it scans a pool of levered/tech-focused ETFs (examples include TQQQ, TECL, SOXL, UPRO, QLD, ROM) and picks the top 2 by relative momentum (RSI). In Safety, it scans a pool of defensive/bond assets (example: BSV, TLT, LQD, VBF, XLP, UGE, XLU, XLV, SPAB) and selects the bottom asset by RSI (the one with weaker momentum) to position for mean-reversion or to keep a safety net in place. The strategy always includes a group of defensive/bond/sector ETFs to form a “Safe Sectors” sleeve that can be favored when growth looks risky. A separate macro/trend check compares the Nasdaq proxy (QQQ) against a moving average to avoid staying in growth if the trend weakens. QLD is used as a substitute for QQQ in some paths to boost Nasdaq exposure when conditions favor growth. Weights are allocated with cash-equal logic and there are substantial nested conditions to decide which sleeve to emphasize. The plan is daily-rebalanced and stays focused on equities, with a tilt toward Safe Sectors and Bonds when risk signals warn.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Sharpe 3.08 vs S&P 1.73, beta ~0.53, Nasdaq tilt with built-in safety sleeves aims for higher, more consistent risk-adjusted gains than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
