About

Own gold (GLD) when it’s in a long‑term uptrend. If gold is in a downtrend, buy sharp dips, short sharp spikes with GLL, or sit in a volatility‑balanced mix of SPY/IEF/TLT. Rebalanced daily.
NutHow it works
Each day: - If GLD (a gold ETF) is above its 200‑day average price (long‑term uptrend), hold GLD. - If below: if its 2‑day RSI is very low (it just dropped hard), buy GLD; if very high (it just spiked), buy GLL (2× inverse gold). Otherwise hold SPY (US stocks), IEF/TLT (US Treasury bonds), sized more to the calmer ones (last 30 days).
CheckmarkValue prop
This strategy uses a gold trend filter plus short-term mean reversion to beat the S&P 500 on a risk-adjusted basis: out-of-sample return ~66.6% annually vs 17%, Sharpe ~2.73 vs ~0.97, and max drawdown ~10% vs ~19% for SPY.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
