About

A daily, rules‑based approach around DBMF (a managed‑futures ETF). Own DBMF in uptrends, step into T‑Bills when it’s briefly too “hot.” If DBMF isn’t trending up, buy it only on sharp dips; otherwise hold a low‑vol mix of US stocks, Treasuries, and gold.
NutHow it works
DBMF is a managed‑futures ETF (it follows big trends across rates, commodities, currencies, and stock indexes). Each day we: • Check if DBMF is above its 50‑day average (an uptrend). • Use a 2‑day RSI (0–100 “heat” gauge): <20 = washed out, >97.5 = too hot. Rules: In uptrends hold DBMF unless RSI>97.5, then park in T‑Bills (BIL). If not in an uptrend, buy DBMF only when RSI<20; otherwise hold a calmer mix of SPY (US stocks), IEF/TLT (Treasuries), and GLD (gold), weighted toward the steadier ones. Rebalanced daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Rules-based DBMF trend strategy with cash protection. Parks in T-bills when overheated and shifts to a low-vol mix otherwise. Out-of-sample: max drawdown 7.65% vs SPY ~18.8%; Calmar 0.84; return 6.43% vs 16.07%. Strong downside protection; growth.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
