About

Rides a broad commodities fund (PDBC) when it’s trending up, steps into T‑bills when it gets briefly overheated, and in downtrends either grabs rare oversold bounces in PDBC or sits in a calmer mix of stocks, Treasuries, and gold sized by recent volatility.
NutHow it works
Daily check. If PDBC (a broad commodities fund) is above its 50‑day average price, hold PDBC—unless its 2‑day RSI (a 0–100 “hot/cold” score) >95, then park in BIL (T‑bills). If below the 50‑day average, buy PDBC only when RSI<2.5; otherwise hold an inverse‑vol mix of SPY/IEF/TLT/GLD (more weight to the least jumpy over 10 days).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers better risk-adjusted returns vs the S&P 500: Sharpe ≈1.01 vs 0.95, Calmar ≈1.71, and max drawdown ≈7% vs 19%. Low beta (~0.17) with a defensive overlay offers steadier gains and downside protection.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
