About

A tactical, tech‑tilted strategy that rotates among QQQ (Nasdaq), sector ETFs, long Treasuries, and a defensive mix (T‑Bills, staples, gold). It uses trend filters and a simple “oversold” gauge to lean risk‑on in uptrends and defend in downtrends.
NutHow it works
Core rule (“Super QQQ”): If the broad market (SPY) is above its 200‑day average, hold QQQ (big‑tech Nasdaq). If not, and QQQ’s short‑term heat score (RSI, 0–100; <30 = washed‑out) is >30, use Defense: T‑Bills (BIL) plus staples (XLP) and gold (GLD), sized more to the calmer one. If RSI ≤30, buy XLK (tech) for a rebound. Four 15% sleeves buy XLF/XLK/XLE/XLU when recent trend (5‑ vs 50‑day avg) is up; else use Super QQQ. A 40% sleeve toggles between TLT (long Treasuries) and Super QQQ using long/medium‑term bond trend and RSI.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy beats the S&P on risk-adjusted return (Sharpe ~1.26 vs ~1.14), delivers higher annualized return (23.9% vs 20.3%), and shows smaller drawdowns (15.4% vs 18.8%). Diversified, tech-forward with built-in downside protection.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
