A market-timing strategy that often leans into tech/growth stocks when trends are strong, rotates into strong sectors when available, and can move part of the portfolio into bonds, T-bills, staples, or gold when conditions weaken.

This strategy splits money into several parts. One part follows a “growth” play: if the broad U.S. stock market looks healthy, it buys QQQ (big tech-heavy stocks like Apple, Microsoft, Amazon). If the market looks weak, it may shift into safer holdings like Treasury bills, consumer staples, or gold. Other parts each test a sector—financials, technology, energy, and utilities. If that sector has been trending up lately, it buys it. If not, it falls back to the same growth/defense rule above. A final part watches long-term U.S. government bonds (TLT). Depending on bond trend and strength, it holds bonds or switches back into the growth/defense play.

Out-of-sample, this strategy targets ~19.8% annualized return with ~15.4% max drawdown vs S&P's ~17.4% and ~18.8%. It offers stronger risk-adjusted returns (Sharpe ~1.09, Calmar ~1.29) via momentum, sector rotation, and defense tilts.
