About

A rules‑based, risk‑on/risk‑off strategy. It owns aggressive 3x tech/semis in uptrends, shifts to cash/hedges when overheated or turbulent, and in risk‑off favors the dollar, commodities, or Treasuries/defensive stocks based on interest‑rate trends. Uses 3x ETFs; high risk.
NutHow it works
Step 1: Ask if bonds are rising. If yes, try to own fast‑moving tech/semis (3x funds) when the trend is up; cut risk or short them when they’re overheated, falling fast, or volatility jumps. If bonds are weak, go risk‑off: rising rates → favor USD/commodities/hedges; falling rates → favor long Treasuries/defensive sectors. Signals used: trend (moving averages), momentum heat (RSI 0–100), recent drops (drawdown), and choppiness (volatility).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: lower drawdown (13.6% vs 18.8% SPY) and steadier risk (Calmar ~0.72). Raw returns are lower, but it delivers better downside protection, diversification, and regime-driven growth potential vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
