About

A monthly, rules-based, multi‑asset portfolio. It equal‑weights sleeves in US/foreign stocks, real estate, commodities, and Treasuries, then uses two simple 1‑year checks to size each sleeve and parks the rest in T‑bills (BIL).
NutHow it works
Each month it splits money across 7 ETFs: MTUM (US momentum stocks), IWD (US value), EFA (developed foreign stocks), EFV (foreign value), VNQ (US real estate), DBC (commodities), IEF (Treasury bonds). For each, it asks: 1) Is price above its 1‑year average? 2) Did it beat BIL (T‑bill cash) over 1 year? Both yes: full. One yes: half. None: hold BIL. Any leftover sits in BIL.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Sharpe ~1.59 vs S&P, beta ~0.54, drawdowns ~9.7% vs 13.7%, Calmar ~2.0. Diversified, rules-based sleeves with a cash buffer offer steadier, risk-adjusted upside and lower risk than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
