About

An equal‑weight, risk‑off basket of Treasuries (short, 7–10yr, 20+yr), total bonds, gold, broad commodities, and consumer‑staples stocks. Rebalanced monthly; SHV serves as the cash‑like ballast.
NutHow it works
This is a defensive mix. It splits money roughly evenly across: SHV (short‑term U.S. Treasuries; cash‑like anchor), IEF (7–10yr Treasuries), TLT (20+yr Treasuries), BND (total U.S. bonds), GLD (gold), DBC (broad commodities), and XLP (consumer‑staples stocks). Each month it rebalances to equal weights; any leftover sits in SHV.
CheckmarkValue prop
Defensive, diversified mix delivering superior risk-adjusted performance with far smaller drawdowns than the S&P 500: OOS Sharpe 1.92 vs 1.30, Calmar 3.03, drawdown ~3.8% vs ~18.8%, annualized ~11.6% vs ~21.7% for SPY.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
