About

A daily‑tactical metals portfolio that reads the U.S. stock market’s momentum (via VTI’s RSI) to switch: risk‑on tilts to silver/palladium/rare‑earths/copper; risk‑off holds mostly gold, silver, platinum; neutral is gold‑heavy with small satellites.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks market tone using the 14‑day RSI on VTI (a fund for the whole U.S. stock market; RSI = balance of recent buying vs selling). If >47: GLD(gold)20, SLV(silver)30, PALL(palladium)20, SCCO(copper miner)5, REMX(rare‑earth miners)15, PPLT(platinum)10. If <46: equal GLD/SLV/PPLT. Else: GLD61.9, SLV19.1, PPLT4.8, PALL4.8, REMX9.5. Rebalances daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Sharpe 6.07 vs SPY 0.96; OOS alpha 2.29; Calmar ~88. A tactical metals strategy that adaptively shifts between gold-heavy defense and cyclicals, aiming for materially stronger risk-adjusted returns than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
