About

Monthly trend check on oil: own DBO after a positive month; otherwise hold a defensive blend of TIP, GLD, and IEI sized by recent stability to cushion oil downturns.
NutHow it works
Once a month, it checks the past month’s return of an oil futures ETF (DBO). If oil has been rising, it owns DBO to ride the trend. If oil has been falling, it moves to a safety mix: inflation‑protected Treasuries (TIP), gold (GLD), and 3–7 year Treasuries (IEI). Steadier assets get bigger weights.
CheckmarkValue prop
Oil-momentum with a built-in hedge: low market beta (~0.24) and a monthly switch to TIP/GLD/IEI. Adds diversification and ballast to the S&P 500 through a simple, rule-driven approach.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
