About

Switches between 3x S&P 500, plain S&P 500, or short‑term Treasuries using a UVXY ‘fear’ heat check and a 5‑day −2% dip test. Aggressive when fear cools; cautious when fear rises; buys SPY after a sharp drop.
NutHow it works
It uses UVXY (a fund that jumps when market fear rises) as a heat gauge. It compares UVXY’s longer‑term heat (32 days) to very short‑term heat (4 days). If long > short (fear cooling), it buys UPRO (3x S&P 500). If fear is rising, then: if SPY hasn’t fallen ≥2% in 5 days, it hides in SHY (short‑term Treasuries); otherwise it buys SPY to ‘buy the dip.’
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy offers higher upside and better risk-adjusted returns vs the S&P 500: ~55% annualized vs 23%; Sharpe ~1.52. It switches between leveraged equities and Treasuries to capture gains and manage risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
