About

A contrarian sector-rotation strategy that buys recent losers (US/global sectors and Treasuries), adds diversifiers (managed futures, gold), and uses a leveraged sleeve (3x S&P 500 plus a “beta flipping” module). Rebalanced quarterly; can be volatile.
NutHow it works
Your money is split into four sleeves: - Sector bounce trades: Pick the 3 worst recent performers among sector ETFs and Treasuries (US and global lists) and buy them, expecting a short-term rebound. - Diversifiers: Managed futures (CTA, KMLM) and gold (GLD). - Leverage: 3x S&P 500 (UPRO) plus a module that buys 2 recent losers from four choices: anti‑beta (BTAL), long Treasuries (ZROZ), or leveraged Tech/Health pairs (TECL+VGT, CURE+VHT). - A small overlay leans into whichever sector set (US vs global) has lagged. Rebalanced quarterly.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 32.6% annualized return vs 30.7% for the S&P, with a Calmar ~1.47, offering solid risk-adjusted upside despite ~22% max drawdown. Diversified sleeves and beta-flipping leverage seek stronger growth with managed risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
