About

A dynamic, rule-based strategy that scales into equities on momentum signals and hedges volatility with VIX futures and short-term Treasuries to manage risk.
NutHow it works
A rule-based 'scale-in' system that gradually adds stock exposure when short-term momentum looks favorable and hedges risk with VIX futures (VXX) and short-term Treasuries (BIL) when volatility or weakness appears. It watches several ETFs (SPY, QQQ, XLP, XLF, RETL, VOX, etc.) using 10-day RSI signals and moving-average tests to decide whether to stay long, rotate to hedged positions, or lever up with growth ETFs (TECL, SPXL, TQQQ).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return ~39.8% vs SPY ~17.1%, driven by disciplined momentum scaling with volatility hedges (VIX futures, T-bills). Higher upside potential and risk controls; watch for larger drawdowns in volatile regimes.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
