About

Daily, rules-based switch between 3x semiconductor ETFs: usually long SOXL, but flips to SOXS only after very strong up days in both semis (SOXX) and broader tech (TECL), aiming to fade extremes. Concentrated and very high risk.
NutHow it works
Each day the strategy picks between two 3x semiconductor funds. SOXL = 3x long chips; SOXS = 3x inverse chips. SOXX (regular chips ETF) is the thermometer; TECL (3x tech) flags very hot days. - If SOXX rose >2% yesterday and TECL rose >5.5%, buy SOXS (bet on a pullback). - Otherwise buy SOXL (ride strength). Rebalances daily; very volatile.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~8.7% annualized return vs SPY ~11.8%, Sharpe ~0.62 vs 0.71, but much larger drawdowns (~84% vs ~24%). Captures tech-led upside with a rules-based switch to inverse on extreme days; high risk, high potential.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
